Bhedaghat is located in Jabalpur district in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is located on the banks of Narmada River, the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh.   • Marble rocks: Undoubtedly, the biggest draw among Bhedaghat tourism attractions is the towering marble rocks. These limestone rocks rise perpendicularly on both sides of the flowing river, crafting a magical appearance. A boat ride is the best way to explore the rocks and waters. As the boat wades through, you can see the rocks taking on different shapes! Not to mention, a boat ride on a full moon night will surely bring out the romantic side in you. At one point, the cliffs on both sides come so close together that a monkey can leap from one side to the other. The place is named Bandar Kodini.

  • Dhuandhar Falls: The name translates as smoke cascade. The gently flowing Narmada makes an abrupt plunge at one place creating a majestic, thunderous waterfall. The area indeed has a smoky look with water droplets splashing around. A small trek will take you to the top, from where you can enjoy the splendid views. This is one of the best among places to visit in Bhedaghat.

  • Chausath Yogini Temple: This temple located near Bhedaghat looks resplendent with intricately carved stone sculptures. The temple is one of the oldest of its kind. The circular structure is dedicated to Goddess Durga and her 64 yoginis. Yogini is said to be the fierce female guardian of the goddess. A temple with all female deities, a touching dedication to powerful feminine! Located on the banks of Narmada, this is one of the best places to visit near Bhedaghat.

  • Narmada river puja: This is the part of Bhedaghat tourism attractions that should not be missed at any cost. While Hinduism is known for worshipping nature, a full-fledged puja of a river is not very common. In Jabalpur, you get to see this. The puja takes place in Gwarighat. Take a ferry to the temple located in the middle of river and watch the spiritual spectacle. This is truly one of the best things to do in Bhedaghat.

  • Madan Mahal Fort: This fort is a major tourist attraction of Jabalpur and is one of the best places to visit near Bhedaghat. Built by the Gond rulers, the fort is a fine example of their grandeur. Walk through the enormous structure with secret passages and corridors and feel history coming alive!

When to visit?

Being one of the best places to visit in India, this quiet place in Madhya Pradesh receives lots of tourists throughout the year. But marble rocks and Dhuandhar Falls, which are the best among places to visit in Bhedaghat, remain inaccessible during monsoons. You will not be able to enjoy boat rides in this season. Winters are cool and pleasant while summers can be taxing on your energy. So November to March will be the best time to visit Bhedaghat.

How to visit?

As Jabalpur is not a typical tourist city, the question how to visit Bhedaghat will naturally be a concern for tourists. Both for air and rail travel, Jabalpur is the closest destination. Though it is at a distance of around 40 kms from Bhedaghat, commuting from Jabalpur to here is easy as you get cabs or buses. Even from other cities in Madhya Pradesh, you can travel by road to Bhedaghat.
